Conference Award – 2026 Spring ITS Conference

Lucas Kervin Joshua, a PhD Candidate at the Cho Chun Shik Graduate School of Mobility (KAIST), has been honored with the Outstanding Paper Award at the 2026 Korea ITS Spring Conference held in Jeju.

His award-winning research, titled “Recursive Neurosymbolic Optimization for the Semantic Repair of Structurally Inconsistent Household Travel Surveys,” introduces a pioneering approach to data integrity in the field of intelligent transportation. The study utilizes neurosymbolic optimization to resolve structural inconsistencies within household travel surveys, significantly improving the accuracy of data used for urban mobility modeling.

The 2026 Korea ITS Spring Conference, hosted by the Korean Society of Intelligent Transport Systems, is one of the most prestigious academic events in the field.
