The Human-FACTS Lab will host a seminar on recent advances in
Human–Autonomy Teaming (HAT) for automated driving.
The talk explores how humans and autonomous systems collaborate to make safer and more efficient decisions in automated driving environments. It will introduce foundation-model-driven approaches using large language models (LLMs) and vision-language models (VLMs) to interpret driving situations and support explainable interaction between humans and autonomous systems.
Speaker
Prof. Ziran Wang
College of Engineering, Purdue University
The seminar will also discuss validation through real-world vehicle experiments and large-scale simulations, with relevance to perception–planning integration, model-based decision support, and human-centered system design.
