IMPACTs, the mobility research group at the Cho Chun Shik Graduate School of Mobility, KAIST, is recruiting graduate students, interns, and postdoctoral researchers across its member labs. We welcome applicants from Korea and abroad who are interested in transport and mobility AI. Review the openings below, note the member lab you would like to join, and follow the contact steps before applying.
Fully Funded Ph.D. via Global Korea Scholarship (Fall 2027)
100% tuition waiver, stipend of about 1.8M KRW per month with advisor top-up, and one year of Korean language training.
- International applicants only (non-Korean citizens)
- Background in transportation, civil engineering, computer science, economics, mathematics, control, or human factors
- English proficiency score and transcript
- CV and a short statement of research interests
G-MAX Mobility AX Global Expert Program (Thesis Track)
Fully funded: tuition plus a living stipend, hosted at the Cho Chun Shik Graduate School of Mobility.
- Open to citizens of 13 countries: Bangladesh, Cambodia, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Uzbekistan, and Viet Nam
- Bachelor’s in engineering, urban planning, or a related field
- Interest in mobility AI and data-driven transport
Undergraduate Research Interns (URP)
Scholarship and course credit available through the KAIST URP program.
- Interest in traffic simulation, data analysis, and AI modelling
- Programming experience (Python preferred)
- Hands-on research with an IMPACTs member lab
Korean Graduate Students (M.S. / Ph.D. / Integrated Ph.D.)
Regular domestic graduate admission track. Inquiries welcome year round.
- Korean nationality
- Background in engineering, urban planning, computer science, economics, or mathematics
- CV and a short statement of research interests
Postdoctoral Researchers

- Ph.D. in transportation, civil engineering, computer science, or urban planning
- Strong publication or research record
- CV and a brief research statement
- Choose the opening and the member lab that fit you, and prepare your CV, transcript, English proficiency score, and a short summary of your research interests.
